This year, the Concerts in the Park and Outdoor Market are being conducted in compliance with all guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health and other regulatory agencies to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus.

The following rules have been issued for concert performers and spectators:

• Performers are restricted to 10 or fewer in their group.

• Performers must remain in the bandstand during their performance.

• Spectators will not be permitted near the stage.

• Spectators must establish seating areas with lawn chairs or blankets that are a minimum of 6 feet away from other groups.

The concerts series is marking its 26th year. These musical shows often providing an entertaining way for customers at the village’s Outdoor Market to wrap up their evening.

Similar to previous years, the market takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. However, one revision in 2020 stemming from COVID-19 is that outdoor market shopping from 5 to 6 p.m. is reserved for the elderly and people with compromised immune systems.

Other rules for the Outdoor Market in 2020 include spacing vendors 10 to 15 feet apart; requiring all of the merchants and their employees to wear masks at all times; and maintaining social distance of 6 feet between all groups of customers.

In addition, families or other groups of customers shopping together at the outdoor market cannot consist of more than 10 persons. Walkways also are labeled for one-way movement.

The Madison Village Outdoor Market, in its fifth year, features items such as homemade baked goods, produce, crafts and products from independent home-party consultants.
