Tekieli’s US teammate, Frank Applebaum, was honored for 100 butterfly. A 48.31 was the 17th fastest 100 fly time in the nation.
The Preppers’ 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays, with Tekieli, Applebaum, Colin Savage and Prajwal Guruprasad, also netted All-American honors.
On the girls side, Hawken’s Tori Culotta (500 free) and Gilmour’s Cate O’Haimhirgin (100 breast) were All-Americans in their respective bread-and-butter events. Culotta was the D-II 500 free state champion, and O’Haimhirgin was fourth in D-II 100 breast at state.
Three area girls divers also received All-American recognition: Chagrin Falls’ Kate LaMonica, Beachwood’s Amanda Leizman and Kenston’s Mary O’Neill. At the D-II state meet, O’Neill was fourth, LaMonica fifth and Leizman eighth.
Ohio had the secondmost boys honored on the team, behind Texas, and the fourth-most girls recognized. All-Americans will have certificates mailed to them, after the 2020 NISCA conference in Indianapolis was canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
