The Geauga County coroner has released the identity of the woman killed in a Claridon Township crash over the weekend.

Cheyenne Tucker, 20, of Maple Heights was ejected from the 2009 Volkswagen Passat she was driving eastbound on Chardon-Windsor Road at about 2:50 p.m., July 25.

The investigation by the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Chardon Post revealed that she failed to stop at a stop sign at Route 608 and pulled out in front of a southbound Ford F-450 pickup truck driven by a 26-year-old Chardon man.

There is a flashing stop sign at the intersection as a result of accidents, a fire official said.

The exact cause of death hadn’t been determined as of July 27, because the autopsy wasn’t complete.

The body was sent to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office to be identified via fingerprints, said an employee with the Geauga Coroner’s Office.

The Volkswagen’s front passenger, a 38-year-old female, was flown to University Hospital of Cleveland. Three juvenile boys in the back seat of the car were transported to UH Geauga Medical Center, where they were treated and released.

“We don’t know where she was traveling to,” said OHP Lt. Larry Roberts. “We just assumed she was going to Pioneer Waterland; she had swimming articles in the vehicle.”

The driver and passengers in the Passat weren’t wearing seat belts, authorities said.

Responding agencies included Geauga County Sheriff’s Office, Hambden Fire Department, Chardon Fire Department, Burton Fire Department and Munson Fire Department.
