Rabbit Run Community Arts Association unveils fall classes
Rabbit Run Community Arts Association announced that registration for its fall session fine arts classes and lessons is now open.
Rabbit Run, located in Madison, stated it has fine arts instruction opportunities in dance, visual art and music this fall regardless of age or ability.
Dance classes are available throughout the week, beginning Sept. 8, for all levels of expertise in ballet, tap and jazz from preschoolers, ages 3 or 4, to adults looking to get back into shape. Also available are classes in hip-hop, modern dance, Zumba and creative movement.
The dance classes are both live and live virtual. Utilizing social distancing, classes have limited in-person enrollment along with live virtual enrollment, allowing students to study from their home, if they choose, according to a news release.
A variety of visual art classes and workshops are available as virtual and live virtual experiences. Painting the Masters, beginning Sept. 14, will have all ages of students exploring and painting in the artistic style of a different famous artist each week and learning how each artist created their own style of art.
Both adults and youths may enroll in Oil Pastels Essentials, also beginning Sept. 14. Students will learn tips and tricks for color-saturated works of art using oil pastels.
Illustrator Art, for school-aged youth, will instruct students on how to create illustration art in the style of great children’s illustrators that they are sure to recognize like Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle. Illustrator Art begins Nov. 2.
Middle school students can let their imaginations soar in Mixed Media Sculpture, beginning Nov. 2, as they create 3-D sculptures using common household items.
Any aged student or adult is welcome to try their hand at the canvas art workshops which are offered through the year.
An acrylic original painting is provided with instruction by Rabbit Run art instructor Nancy NelsonBrotz on how to recreate it. No painting experience is required, and workshops are scheduled for Sept. 21, Oct. 26 and Dec. 14.
New this year is the class Music of the World in Which We Live for high school students and adults, the release stated. This class, led by Rabbit Run music instructor Debbie Inks, will take a close look at music in countries around the world during the pandemic of 2020 and how people are expressing themselves through music amidst sheltering in, job loss and other pandemic challenges.
The class begins Oct. 28. For those wanting to learn to play a musical instrument or brush up on their skills, weekly private music lessons are available for voice, brass, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, percussion, woodwinds, piano/keyboard, recorder, viola/violin/Suzuki violin, cello and fiddle.
