Eastlake Police Department is seeking a suspect accused of robbing Walgreens.

The department posted on its Facebook page late Aug. 14 that, just after 9 p.m., a younger white male entered into Walgreens intending on purchasing a bottle of Nyquil. After the cashier scanned the item and provided a total, the male, who had his right hand in the right front pocket of his hoodie, pushed his hood forward and said he had a gun, the post said. He then ordered the cashier to hand over all the money in the drawer.

The male was seen reaching over the counter and into the drawer to remove the money himself and then fled on foot, the report said. After speaking with someone in the area, officers learned that the male ran westbound across Route 91 and, after jumping a fence, ran through the parking lot of Severino’s. He then ran northbound on East 351st Street.

Along with a grey hoodie, the male was wearing bluejeans and black tennis shoes with white trim on the bottom. The jeans were ripped near the top of the left leg.

The male was also wearing what appeared to be a surgical mask and sunglasses, so officers had difficulty discerning facial characteristics.

“Based on the clothing description depicted in the photos, we are hoping someone can identify this male,” the post said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Patrolman Ward at 440951-1400 ext. 5 or to send a private message to the department’s Facebook page. Reference report # 20-01323.
