Outdoor Market and Concerts in the Park series heading into last three weeks of season

There are only three weeks left for this year’s Madison Village Outdoor Markets and Concerts in the Park series.

The market and concerts began their 2020 run on June 4, and are held every Thursday night in Madison Village Park, which is bordered by West Main, River and Park streets.

Madison Village has instituted regulations for this year’s outdoor market and summer concerts to comply with guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health and other regulatory agencies to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Some of the rules for the festivities include spacing vendors 10 to

15 feet apart; requiring all of the merchants and their employees to wear masks at all times; and maintaining social distance of 6 feet between all groups of customers.

Masks for guests visiting the park for the market or concerts are required when these individuals are unable to space themselves 6 feet apart from people who are not household members.

Madison Village Administrator Dwayne Bailey said both events have been successful this year.

“I’m really impressed with how well people are following the rules,” he said.

Hours for the market are 5 to 8 p.m., with the first hour reserved exclusively for the elderly and people with compromised immune systems.

In its fifth year, the Madison Village Outdoor Market

features items such as homemade baked goods, produce, crafts and products from independent home-party consultants.

Performances at the Concerts in the Park series usually take place from 7 to 9 p.m.

But different start times have been announced for the last two concerts of the season.

On Sept. 3, musical entertainment by the Dive Kings will start at 6:30 p.m. For the season-closing show on Sept. 10, Mad Town Jazz begins to play at 6 p.m.

These start times were changed because of darkness setting in earlier and nighttime temperatures cooling off as summer draws to a close, Bailey said.

The Aug. 27 concert will start at 7 p.m., with the musical act to be announced soon.

This marks the 26th that the Madison Village Concerts in the Park series has provided outdoor entertainment for the community.
