Runners to watch

(in alphabetic­al order) JT Basco, Sr., Harvey: Placed 61st at the D-I Boardman regional and was 10th at the Madison District meet. Luke Danison, Jr., Chardon: Qualified for the regional meet in 17th at the D-I Madison District. Placed 162nd at Boardman. Patrick Garrett, Sr., West Geauga: Advanced to the D-II state meet and was 99th in 17 minutes, 14 seconds. Placed 24th at Boardman and second at Madison. David Hamilton, Jr., Hawken: Finished 10th at the D-II Trumbull District meet to advance to Boardman, and was 61st to cap a strong sophomore season. Neil Jones, Sr., Lake Catholic: Fifth at the D-II Madison District to advance to Boardman, where he placed 46th. Ben LaFave, Sr., University: Finished 101st at the D-I state meet after he was 68th at Boardman and 24th at Madison. Hunter Longo, Jr., Chagrin Falls: Led the Tigers at the D-II Boardman Regional, where he was 42nd following a 15th-place finish at Madison. Alex Mohr, Sr., Lake Catholic: Qualified in 13th at the D-II Madison District and finished 109th at the Boardman Regional meet. Dennis Princic, Sr., Kenston: Led the Bombers’ pack in 50th at the D-I state meet, where Kenston notched its best team placement in program history. Dom Ricco, Sr., Mentor: Placed 23rd at the D-I Madison District meet and finished 105th at Boardman. Mentor’s top returning PR at 16 minutes, 20 seconds. Max Rollins, Sr., Mayfield: Finished 19th at the D-I Madison District to advance to Boardman as the Wildcats’ lone regional qualifier, where he was 145th. Jack Turk, Sr., Kenston: Was 86th at the D-I state meet after placing 37th at Boardman and 13th at Madison. Griffin Walsh, Sr., University: Solid junior year closed with a 94th-place effort at the D-I state meet. Was 22nd at Madison District and 50th at Boardman. Bryce Weber, Jr., Riverside: Finished 36th at the D-I Madison District. Candidate to have a breakout season in 2020 for the Beavers. Michael Welsh Jr., Sr., NDCL: Was 81st at the D-II state meet after finishing 26th at Boardman and third at Madison. Zeb Zuber, Sr., Riverside: Placed ninth at Madison and 69th at the D-I Boardman regional meet. When healthy, will lead the Beavers’ pack alongside Weber.
