The Fairport Harbor Public Library announced steps to help teachers have a successful school year whether they are teaching in person or virtually.

Any educator is encouraged to contact the library for assistance, including teachers in a public school, private school, preschool, licensed child care center, college or university, educational organization, or to any registered home schooling parent, according to a news release.

Library services available to teachers include in-person or virtual classroom visits for lessons, book talks, or story time; class sets of books, library tours; and teacher totes.

Teacher totes will be delivered monthly to either a Fairport Harbor school or may be picked up any time by teachers outside the district, the release stated.

With at least two days’ notice, the library staff will prepare a collection of ageappropriate books for any class/grade and topic.

Teachers may also obtain a separate library card to check out library materials intended for classroom use.

With the Fairport Harbor Public Library Teacher library card, educators may check out up to 50 items and place up to 75 library materials on hold. These cards allow a three-week loan on most materials and potentially up to five auto-renewals. Most Fairport Harbor Public Library items are not subject to overdue fines.

Materials borrowed from other libraries in the CLEVNET system are subject to the lending and fine policies of the originating library.
