Leadership Geauga names coordinator of new Heritage Program
Leadership Geauga has announced that Pam Carson has been hired as its coordinator of its new Heritage Program.
Leadership Geauga had announced in April the multi-year endorsement and funding from The Cleveland Foundation to support the design and implementation of the new Heritage Program.
The program, for retired or approaching retirement individuals, will leverage Geauga County’s strong network of community leaders and partner organizations to identify intentional ways to harness the wisdom, experience and connections of those who find they have the time and interest to learn more about Geauga County and become involved, perhaps for the first time, in the community, according to a news release.
“I think this program is needed and will be very welcome to those thinking about next steps and ways to remain vital while contributing to this tremendous community we live in,” Bari Oyler Stith, former Geauga County archivist, and director of BA/MA Historic Preservation ProgramsUrsuline College, said in the release.
To get the Heritage Program underway, Carson, a Chardon resident with a 35-plus years in financial services, small business and nonprofit leadership, was hired to build the program.
She will be connecting with community thought leaders, researching and designing the program curriculum and preparing for the first class to begin in the spring.
“Pam brings a wealth of experience in strategic start-ups, program management, and fundraising,” Leadership Geauga Executive Director Melanie Scanlon in the release. “The Heritage Program is the perfect opportunity to leverage her skills and experiences to provide other retirees, and soon-to-be-retirees the opportunity to learn, grow, connect and make a difference in our community.”
