Marc’s to open new WH store

A new, updated Marc’s store is set to open its doors Nov. 11 in Willoughby Hills.

With the former Marc’s store, located at 28121 Chardon Road, closing Nov. 10 at 6 p.m., the new, 51,000-square-foot Marc’s will offer shoppers a fresh experience at a much larger location, 27505 Chardon Road.

“Our goal is to continue to offer the highest value and lowest prices for our customers while also providing a consistent and customer-focused experience for those who’re shopping in our stores,” said Marc’s president Kevin Yaugher in a statement.

“We are confident that the residents of Willoughby Hills will be well served with this new location and we look forward to being a part of the community for years to come.”

The new store will feature name brands and quality fresh produce, fresh meats, a cold cut counter, organic foods, as well as the closeout and seasonal items for which Marc’s are known.

“Marc’s has put a lot into the community,” said regional manager Bob Butler. “Others have left and here we are making a bigger, better store and we’re here for their needs.”

With the Willoughby Hills’ Marc’s, customers don’t have to drive to other communities, Butler said.

“They can stay here and Marc’s is going to take care of them,” he said. “Everything just fell into place. Giant Eagle left the community and we were doing fine at our old location, but this opportunity opened up and Marc’s jumped on it.”

There are roughly 126 employed at the new location.

Karen Klefman, director of advertising, says the people she’s been working with since age 16 are her favorite part about working for Marc’s.

“I like coming to work every day. Everyone works together,” Klefman said. “We have a really great team.”

Marc’s first opened in Northeast Ohio in 1979. Additional offerings and services include MyMarc’s Digital Coupon Program, which allows customers to save $100’s with manufacturer’s digital offers.

To join, customers can sign up at Marc’s by entering their phone number at checkout and savings are automatic.
