Max & Erma’s assets to be auctioned
Items include Ohio sports memorabilia, furniture, antiques, auction will be held online
An auction company hopes to find new homes for items from Max & Erma’s recently closed Mentor location.
Biddergy.com is offering all assets of the restaurant for sale online Nov. 17.
Items include lots of local memorabilia, Ohio sports memorabilia, furniture, supplies, tin signs, antiques, nautical items, newer kitchen equipment, booths and more.
“This is a great opportunity to bid on gently used items,” Biddergy.com President Ed Ouellette said.
Among the more unique items are a vintage “Moby Dink” wooden boat hanging from the ceiling and a collection of vintage outboard boat motors, he said.
“The wood lion statue is neat,” he added. “The la st one we sold went for nearly $1,000. Oddly enough, Max & Erma’s has received several calls regarding the bathtub ashtray outside. The large wooden signs are also always popular.”
He noted that some of the sports memorabilia is autographed.
Items can be inspected in person prior to the virtual auction from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 16, at the restaurant, 7890 Mentor Ave.
The auction will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Nov. 17. Items may be removed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 18 and 19.
Kalamazoo, Michiganbased Biddergy.com has buyers and sellers from all 50 States and from more than 200 countries, according to a press release.
Auctions are conducted for various industries each week, ranging from complete liquidations to consignment sales.
Ouellette (pronounced O-let) said the Max & Erma’s auction stands out because of the sheer amount of memorabilia.
