Mentor Public Schools will be partnering with other Lake County organizations and school districts to organize “Career Bound: Virtual College Intern & Job Fair” from 1 to 3:30 p.m., Dec. 17.

The online event is open to all current college students and recent college graduates, with the goal of connecting them to local available full-time jobs and internships.

Confirmed participating companies include Dollar Bank, Lincoln Electric, Avery Dennison and Component Repair Technologies.

They will be recruiting for various positions such as accounting professionals, engineering co-ops and business management.

Attendees are required to sign up and submit their resumes in advance for the companies to look over.

The job fair will be presented on a platform called Premier Virtual, which will allow jobseekers to not only chat online with recruiters, but also research the companies they are interested in and see what positions they already have open.

Dr. Joseph Glavan, Career and Technical Education coordinator for Mentor High School and director of Lake Shore Compact, said that the first “Career

Bound” job fair last year attracted over 100 college students, and he hopes to see even more attend the virtual version.

“We are excited to continue with the second annual ‘ Career Bound: College Internship & Job Fair,’” Glavan stated in a news release.

“While we will be holding the event virtually this year due to COVID-19, the true value of the event was never i n the venue but rather the relationships created from bringing together past area students and local business.

“Maintaining strong connections with past graduates and residents in the area is imperative for the continued growth and success of northeast Ohio,” he added.

“We believe Northeast Ohio offers some of the best educational and business opportunities in the state, and we are excited to hear from our former students and connect them with local employers.”
