Penfield Recreational Park and LaGrange Community Park offer outdoor activities
The Keystone Empowers You Collaborative (KEY) makes it easier for people to stay active and healthy, even during this novel coronavirus pandemic.
Residents can stay active outdoors by visiting the fitness trail at Penfield Recreational Park, according to a news release.
This winter, Penfield Township committed to keep the park’s trail clear of ice and snow for the safety of patrons, the release said.
Penfield Recreational Park is located at 40756 State Route 18 in Penfield Township.
LaGrange Community Park also offers ways to get active during the winter.
Its winter shed will be open as well as their skate pond and sled hill.
LaGrange Community Park is located at 422 W. Main St. in LaGrange.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Keystone Empowers You Collaborative will not host indoor walking at the Keystone Elementary School, the release said.
Instead, it encourages people to exercise outdoors or in their own homes.
Go to UnitedWeSweat. org for free fitness videos from local gyms.
Talk to a health care provider before starting new exercise, especially if you have a history of heart issues.
Keystone Empowers You is a community based group funded in part by the United Way of Greater Lorain County, and facilitated by Lorain County Public Health.
The collaborative includes partners from local businesses, agencies and organizations working toward one goal of making the healthy choice the easy choice in the area, the release said.
