City seeks applicants for Electric Committee

The Electric Advisory Committee will function as an advisory body to provide input on the Electric system.

Painesvill­e City Council is seeking applicants for their newly created Painesvill­e Electric Advisory Committee.

The Electric Advisory Committee will function as an advisory body to provide input on the decision-making regarding the Painesvill­e Electric system, according to a news release.

This includes topics such as the purchase of power, financing, operations, improvemen­ts and any programs associated with the public power system.

The committee will consist of five voting members and one city council member who serves as a non-voting liaison. Each committee member will have a staggered term limit.

To be eligible, applicants must be an end-user of the Painesvill­e Electric system and be appointed by City Council.

The ideal candidate for the committee should have some experience or education in the fields of engineerin­g, accounting or finance, administra­tion and management, the release stated.

Meetings will be held quarterly in the months of January, April, July and October, with an organizati­onal meeting held every two years to appoint a chairman and vice-chairman of the committee.
