• The Friends of Euclid Creek, a nonprofit environmental stewardship organization is pleased to announce the availability of its 2021 annual scholarship in environmental studies. This scholarship aids one deserving student in his/ her pursuit of a degree or certificate in environmental studies, field biology, or any scientific field related to watershed health.
FOEC is currently seeking applications from high school seniors or college students who are planning to pursue a degree within the field of environmental science. A one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) scholarship - earmarked for educational purposes – will be awarded. There may be a second scholarship of five hundred dollars ($500.00). The Friends of Euclid Creek Board of Directors approves all awards.
Applicants may not have received a previous scholarship from the Friends of Euclid Creek. Applicant evaluation is based on background and potential to contribute to environmental stewardship. Interested students must submit a one to two-page letter describing their career goals, past volunteer work related to environmental studies, and significant achievements to date. Applicants also must provide a minimum of one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or community member.
All application materials must be postmarked on or before April 1, 2021. Mail applications to the Friends of Euclid Creek, P.O. Box 21384, South Euclid, Ohio 44121. Emailing applications is also permitted.
Applicants must also be willing to complete an interview with FOEC members upon request, and grant permission to release information and photos upon winning the scholarship.
