“As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others,” said Audrey Hepburn, British actress and humanitarian. Hepburn may have wowed the audiences with her beauty and grace on screen, but her story did not stop there. She credits her life-long success to hard work and helping those around her.
Successful women in Lake County prove that legacy to be true in their own stories as well.
Jessie Baginski
President and CEO of Leadership Lake County in Mentor, Jessie Baginski Ph.D. has spent most of her career in public relations for small businesses, government and nonprofit organizations.
Leadership Lake County is an educational, nonprofit organization established in 1986 that offers leadership development programs with a goal of engaging future leaders in Lake County.
She credits her successful, nontraditional journey with good relationships and her love for life-long learning.
“Relationships are at the heart of everything,” Baginski said. “Being honest, sincere, trustworthy and kind can open many doors. It is essential to pursue mastery and expertise in the content of your work, but personal integrity is what you have to reconcile with each day. Know what you bring to the table and do not be afraid to speak up and advocate for yourself and others. With every step you take, bring someone up with you.”
In the mid ‘90s, Baginski found herself between jobs and without a college degree, struggling to find employment. At the age of 40, she embarked on a new journey at Lakeland Community College to get a degree in business management.
Along her journey she worked her way up starting at Society for Rehabilitation of Children and Adults; Laketran; and as an adjunct professor at Cleveland State University. Through each step, she continued her education, often taking weekend classes so she could dedicate her time during the week to her roles in marketing or teaching.
“In 1997, if you would have told me that I would earn a Ph.D. within 14 years, I would have said ‘no way,’” Baginski said. “I went from being a single mom who was worrying about just getting a decent job to having the privilege to lead a fantastic community leadership organization, all because of relationships.”
She married her husband, Thom in 2000 and has a dog, Leadership Lucy that comes to the office with her most days. Her son, James, lives in Buffalo.
Darya Jeffreys Klammer
Darya Jeffreys Klammer, Esq. has been a lawyer since 1997 and is a past president of the Lake County Bar Association. Not only is she licensed in the State of Ohio, but she is also admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court. Earlier in her career, Klammer was the chief assistant prosecutor for the Geauga County Prosecutor’s Office where she managed and worked cases from child support enforcement to adult murder prosecutions, even arguing before the Ohio Supreme Court. Throughout her career, Klammer has helped people with more types of legal problems than one could imagine, she explained.
“I am truly proud to be a coordinator and an active volunteer with Judge Colleen Falkowski’s Pro Se Divorce Clinic, where we work to help parties without resources find their way through the divorce process,” Klammer said. “Recently, I became an OSBA Certified Specialist in Family Relations Law. This is an important accomplishment for me because I want my clients to be comfortable with my experience.” Klammer is most proud of being a mother to two kids, and along with her husband, Randy, they do their best every day to teach their kids to be kind and understanding. Klammer gives this advice to anyone just starting out as a professional: “Always conduct yourself in such a way that if someone said something bad about you, others would not believe it.”
Bonnie Brihan
Bonnie Brihan is the owner and operator of Bonnie B Photography studio, serving the Greater Cleveland area where she specializes in high school senior portraits, corporate headshots and branding images. After graduating from Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing, Brihan worked at several large corporations in sales and marketing. Even though she loved her job and her coworkers, she knew it was time to turn her lifelong photography hobby into a career. Since launching her photography studio in 2013, she takes additional courses in photography each year. “Photography was a natural choice as it had been my lifelong hobby,” Brihan said. “The decision to turn hobby to pro prompted me to enroll in photography courses at Lakeland Community College. I am happy to say my business continues to grow each year.”
Brihan’s top five pieces of advice for long-term success in business:
1. Conduct yourself with integrity and create a company culture that supports this.
2. Be genuine with your clients and employees.
3. Know who your target client is and deliver high quality products and service...every time. They remember.
4. Be open to feedback from clients and adjust accordingly if appropriate.
5. Educate yourself in business. This includes creating a business model, budgeting and planning, marketing, fulfillment, and follow-up. Know exactly what it costs to run your business. Price your products and services accordingly to pay for your expenses, invest in future needs and pay yourself a livable wage and benefits. Brihan currently resides in Willowick with her husband, Bob Schindler.

ABOUT THE SPECIALIST
My name is Sharrie but I am known to many as The Wig Lady Expert! I am a cosmetologist specializing in medical hair loss. I began my career over 28 years ago and have worked with some heavy hitters in the beauty industry! In the past, I have donated my time working with cancer patients at the Cleveland Clinic and the American Cancer Society. My guidance helps many people find the perfect wig. I love having the opportunity of restoring self-esteem, confidence, and bringing back a sense of normalcy to my clients! I am here to make it easy for you!
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I LOVE WHAT I DO! I was inspired to launch my business because
I had a family member who was receiving chemotherapy treatments and as a result lost their hair. I was determined to help her regain the pride she once felt when looking in the mirror so we set out to find her the perfect wig. We visited several wig stores and not only was the service lousy, the staff was aloof and distant and the experience was very PUBLIC-PEOPLE WERE STARING! It was at this point that my business was born. I vowed to do my best to take care of the hair loss community! You will receive a safe, private, friendly, professional, informative consultation in a modern elegant atmosphere.
CONSULTATION
Private consults are designed to identify what your hair needs are and decipher what options best align with your hair goals. “GOT TO FIT & SAY YOU”. I will explain different wig cap constructions and hair, colors, length and styles that would best suit your needs. You will be shown how to take care of a wig and use the right wig care products. I offer consults through What’s App, Zoom, Google DUO and in person. If you will be undergoing chemotherapy treatment, it is best to call us before you have lost your hair and send us a photo. I am in this with you and your perfect piece awaits!
I do not give prices over the phone due to various wig types, quality, cap construction, and type of hair. WE HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERY BUDGET! Pricing is entirely dependent on the person’s needs, type of hair used, and construction.
