City seeking artists and local growers, bakers, and artisans
The city of Mentor announced that artists as well as local growers, bakers, and artisans are needed for several upcoming summer events.
The Wildwood Fine Arts & Wine Festival Committee is now accepting reservations for display space at this popular event which will be held June 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Festival Committee is looking for original art and fine crafts of the highest quality, according to a news release. Original art should be the focus of each artist’s display, but reproductions may also be offered for sale.
Artists are encouraged to demonstrate their skills during the show, the release stated.
Display spaces that are 14 by 14 feet may be reserved for a fee of $65 ($75 after May 1), plus a $10 jury fee per artist.

The Wildwood Cultural Center is located at 7645 Little Mountain Road.
Wildwood also is seeking local artists to participate in a new permanent exhibit entitled “The Arts of Nature.”
A limited number of artists will be selected to create Art Posts illustrating their artistic interpretation of flora and fauna that can be found along the trails that encompass the
Wildwood Estate Manor, according to a news release.
To enter, download the application at cityofmentor.com/wildwood-culturalcenter. A $5 jury fee applies per sketch with a maximum of two.
Once the design is approved, participants will need to purchase a supply kit from Wildwood. Kits cost $30 and include a composite sleeve, cap, and sealer. Participants will be required to purchase their own paints.
Sketches must be submitted by May 18. Completed art posts must be returned to Wildwood by June 10 and will be placed along the trails.
The “Arts for Nature” exhibit will be unveiled to the public during the Fine Arts Wine & Festival.

Then, the City of Mentor is looking for local growers, bakers, and artisans, who would like to participate in the Mentor Farmers Market which returns Fridays, from June 18 through Sept. 24, at Eleanor B. Garfield Park, 7967 Mentor Ave.
Categories include; produce, baked goods, pastas, oils, honey, tea/coffee, dairy, candy, jams/jellies, specialty foods, plants/flowers, as well as arts & crafts, and more.
