Chardon Kiwanis Ready for Another Year

-

At a meeting in October the Chardon Kiwanis elected its leadership team for the 2020-2021 term and some planning took place for the next year.

The leadership team includes Jim Rayl serving as President; Jeff Campbell serving as PresidentElect; Heather Penrod serving as Secretary, Jim Kniskern Treasurer and Carl Farren, Jim Madea, Joe Miller, Ken Kirchner, and Bob Yates severing as Directors. The club is excited to welcome the new leadership team, who will lead the club forward in our important mission of helping young people in the Chardon area.

The club is looking forward to a successful Maple season, which officially kicked off with the first Virtual Tappin’ Sunday, which was held March 7 at 1 PM on Historic Chardon Square. The Chardon Kiwanis has been involved in the Maple Festival since early on, so we too are saddened COVID – 19 has made it prohibitive to have a full-scale festival this year.

The important mission of improving the world one child and one community at a time still goes on. The Chardon Kiwanis will have limited supply of Maple syrup available this year. If someone is interested in Maple syrup, please call Heather Penrod at 440-7966477. All monies raised will support the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund and other projects sponsored by the Chardon Area Kiwanis. “Chardon Kiwanians look forward to spring and the Maple Season in Chardon and Geauga County,” said Jim Rayl, President of the Chardon Area Kiwanis. “Let us all continue to support the Kiwanis mission and our strong Maple tradition in the area.” Chardon Kiwanis is a volunteer organization member form the backbone of most our projects. If you wish to learn more about the club, please visit www.kiwanisclubofchardon.org or call Jim Rayl at 440-537-4718.
