AUDIOLOGY Have your problems addressed by medical professionals in “Health Talk".

- Dr. Rachael Olinger

Q:A:I was just diagnosed with hearing loss. I’m not sure what to do next. What should be my #1 priority? Being diagnosed with hearing loss can elicit a range of responses: denial, sadness, anxiety, frustration, etc. Whatever you may feel, you are not wrong for those feelings. You might have had your suspicions of a hearing loss for a while, and now it is confirmed. The first step I encourage you to take is to find an audiologist who you trust; someone who will direct you and work with you to begin managing your hearing loss. It is important to find an audiologist who you trust so you can confidently make choices regarding hearing technology that best fits your life. It is also important to find an audiologist you trust because hearing loss typically progresses for a time until it plateaus. This means that you will be working with an audiologist for a significant amount of time. At Advanced Audiology Concepts, we personally get to know and invest in each one our patients. We take the time to get to know you and understand your lifestyle so we can make the best recommendation for you. Hearing is personal and talking about the difficulties in your life that relate to your hearing loss can lead to vulnerability. We are here to help. Whether you are suspicious of your own hearing loss, or that of a loved one, take the step toward better hearing, understanding, and communication. Give us a call and make an appointment. Life Sounds Great!
