Louis E. Silvestro Retter (nee Ellis)

-

Louise E. Silvestro Retter (nee Ellis), better known as “Mom”, “Lou” or “Grandma” passed away April 1, 2021. She was born on September 4, 1945 in Cleveland, OH. Louise leaves behind her loving family members, many friends and lots of stuff her husband, daughters, and granddaughter have no idea what to do with it.

Louise was a very independent, feisty, inquisitive and an adventurous woman. She was never afraid of experiencing something new, whether it was being dragged to a museum by her husband, jet skiing or flying in open cockpit biplane.

She loved to travel with her husband. Specifically, to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where she enjoyed the scenic beauty and the islands, but mostly due to the abundance of casinos in the area. Louise was also known for her love of wine so expect the Ohio wineries to fly their flags at halftwenty-year staff.

She worked extremely hard during her career as Regional Sales Manager for Revlon and Dell Laboratories. Ensuring that all women had the opportunity to look their best. She finished her career in Sales & Merchandising at Acosta Marketing ensuring that area grocery stores had ample supply of food and snacks for hungry Americans.

Despite her lack of sports knowledge, she always cheered the loudest (but not necessarily at the proper times) when her daughters and granddaughter played sports.

She enjoyed watching movies with her husband asking questions about what was going to happen next. Apparently, she thought he had written the screenplay.

Louise always cared and worried about everyone’s being especially her daughters, granddaughter, and furry friends. She always joked she would take a bullet for her girls and then use the bullet on her husband when he made her mad.

She will be sorely missed by her husband, Jeff Retter; Daughters, Dana Silvestro-Oldenburgh (Rob), SilvestroLori Jackson (Charles); Granddaughter, Samara Young; Sister, Martha Myroniak (John); Niece, Stacey Malerba (Dave). Louise was preceded in death by her parents Wade and Ruth (nee Barnard) Ellis.

The family will receive friends at Orlando-DonsanteThe Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at the funeral home (Masks Required for all Services with Social Distancing and Occupancy Limits). Burial will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield Village.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Louise’s memory to Greyhound Adoption of Ohio 7122 Country Lane Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.
