St. Gabriel School names new assistant principal

-

St. Gabriel School in Concord Township has named Leah Myers as the new assistant principal for the 2021-22 school year.

Myers is a Bowling Green State University alumna who currently teaches kindergarten. She holds dual licenses in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Intervention. A life-long learner, Myers also has a 4th and 5th Grade Teaching Endorsement, K-12 Reading Endorsement, and she will conclude her master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching this summer, according to a release from the school.

Myers has dedicated much of her time and energy outside the classroom to leading in our Cleveland Diocese and Grizzly community. She was on the Standards Based Report Card Leadership Team for the Diocese of Cleveland where she teamed up with six other educators to create and implement a new standards-based report card that is used across the diocese.

Many of the older Grizzly students would know her from her time as a head coach for CYO volleyball, and she also volunteers in our parish as a member of the St. Gabriel Care Calling program during the pandemic.

A graduate of St. Gabriel School, Myers is a champion of Catholic education and serving others. She is dedicated to helping her students succeed, and she is excited to increase her ability to impact our community as assistant principal. We are very blessed to have Myers join the administrative team at St. Gabriel School, and she will officially begin her duties starting July 1, the release stated.
