Area Chamber of Commerce to hold first in-person event of 2021 on May 13
The Mayfield Area Chamber of Commerce is planning to hold its first in-person event of the year on May 13.
Deepa Vedavyas, sustainability manager for the City of Cleveland Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, will be a guest speaker at the event being held at StoneWater Golf Club, 1 Club Drive in Highland Heights.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m., attendees will get a chance to do some long awaited face-to-face networking, and then listen to a presentation from Vedavyas on current issues and solutions in small business sustainability.
President of MACC Tammy Clines said she is excited to mark the return to in-person events after the vast majority of the chamber’s meetings over the last year have been held via Zoom due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I think [Vedavyas]’s going to be a great speaker, and I think it was a perfect launch for us to actually get into our in-person meetings,” Clines said.
She added they are trying to bring in speakers and discuss topics that are relevant to what the chamber’s member businesses are experiencing right now, and remaining sustainable throughout the challenges small business have endured over the past year is one of those focuses.
“I think it’s going to be pretty informative,” Clines said. “I think that businesses today are looking for ways for them to be sustainable in their business, or are looking for federal help.
“Also, people are so conscious today with energy and the environment. So I think that this is a really on-target speaker for our members.”
Registration for the event is open to both MACC members and non-members until noon on May 12. The fee to attend is $30 for non-members and $25 for members.
