Money needed for school supplies

-

Willow Praise Church, Asa Angels, and 100 Youth that Care are teaming up with the Salvation Army again this year to raise money for the Back to School Supplies drive for Lake County children.

Between the Salvation Army in Painesville and Willow Praise in Willowick last year, more than 1,600 children received backpacks full of supplies, according to a news release.

This year, approximately, $50,000 in donations and/or supplies are needed by the middle of June to ensure organizers can distribute backpacks and supplies to local children in August, the release stated.

Organizers are looking for corporate sponsors, collection sites, and volunteers. Asa Cox has set up online fundraisers on the Asa Angels Facebook site. Organizers are also looking for sponsors for free haircuts for children.

Individuals can purchase supplies directly from Amazon and have them items shipped to the Salvation Army 69 Pearl St. in Painesville or mail monetary donation Payable to the Salvation Army (please note for School Supplies).

Contact Donna Bullis at the Salvation Army 440354-3774 for those who would like to become involved.
