Tri-C plans next Encore Campus Fridays, Encore On-the-Go, Neighborho­od Scholars courses

Registrati­on for Encore 55+ Learning at Cuyahoga Community College will open Aug. 2, for new sessions of on-campus and online courses this fall.

Beginning in September, Encore Campus Fridays will return in a limited capacity at the Eastern, Western and Westshore campuses, according to a news release. The first four-week session begins Sept. 3, followed by sessions starting Oct. 8 and Nov. 5.

Each class is 50 minutes, and will take place at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Encore On-the-Go virtual sessions will continue once a week on Tuesdays. The first six-week session begins Aug. 31, followed by a second session starting on Oct. 19. Each class is 50 minutes, held at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Instructor­s will teach classes via Webex, an easyto-use online meeting platform, the release stated. Assistance is available for those unfamiliar with Webex, and the Encore team is offering practice sessions to familiariz­e users with the platform.

Encore Campus Fridays and Encore On-the-Go courses cover a wide variety of subjects, including finance, fitness, history, literature, music, philosophy, science and more, the release stated.

The enrollment cost for Encore Campus Fridays is $20 per four-week course. Encore On-the-Go is $27 per six-week course.

In addition, Tri-C’s Neighborho­od Scholars 55+ adult education program returns with in-person and virtual offerings. The schedule includes tours of local places of worship, presentati­ons on Cleveland’s history and the popular Cleveland Museum of Art series.

Most Neighborho­od Scholars classes are single-day, with fees ranging from $10 to $40. The sixweek Cleveland Museum of Art series is $79.
