Scholarships awarded
Cleveland Touchdown Club Charities
Lucy Lubanovich, Samantha Weber and Daisy Yoder were among recipients of the 2021 Cleveland Touchdown Club Charities Memorial Scholarships.
Each individual will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Lubanovich was named this year’s Billy Reynolds Memorial Scholarship winner. She graduated summa cum laude from West Geauga High School in Chester Township, with a 4.11 GPA.
She competed in volleyball, track, cheer and is into kick boxing. She volunteers as a gymnastics instructor at DTJ Gymnastics and has covered high school and local sports as a writer and photographer for several community papers.
She will attend The Ohio State University to study human nutrition and pursue an education in holistic medicine.
Weber, this year’s John Peyton Memorial Scholarship, is a graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School in Painesville.
While excelling in the classroom with a 4.63 GPA, she also competed in track and field, and competitive dance, as well as a cheerleader for both football and basketball. She serves as a mentor as part of the Link Crew Mentorship program and is a member of the Club Red program to promote drugfree living.
She will be majoring in psychology at University of Akron and plans to attend a physician assistant program upon graduation.
Yoder is a graduate of Berkshire High School in Burton, with a 3.86 GPA. Recipient of the Dick Zunt Memorial Scholarship, she played soccer and softball, as well as led The Badgerettes, BHS’s marching band flag line. She is a competitive writer and was vice president of the Berkshire Thespians theater club.
She also volunteered as a rec league soccer coach and delivered meals to those in need.
She will attend John Carroll University in the fall and will major in the Classics.
