Girls cross country runners to watch

(in alphabetical order) Annie Berrow, So., Mentor: Took 76th at state, finished in 76th at 19minutes, 34 seconds. Also finished eighth at Madison D-I District.

Giada D’Agostino, So., Chardon: Finished 71st at Boardman D-I Regional as a freshman. Should be in position for a good sophomore season. Savannah Dennison, Jr., Mentor: Won her second district championship at the D-I Madison meet. Also took first at the D-I Boardman Regional and 16th at state with a time of 18minutes, 38seconds. Emerson Greene, So., Kenston: Strung together a solid postseason with a 13th at Madison D-I District, 14th at Boardman Regional and 53rd at state and a time of 19minutes, 20 seconds.

Reilly Greenlee, Sr., Kirtland: Qualified for her first D-III state meet, where she took 84th in a time of 20minutes, 44 seconds.

Mila Gresh, So., Chagrin Falls: Qualified for the D-II state meet after a 16th place finish at Boardman. Finished 75th at state at 20minutes, 23 seconds.

Rose Hoelzel, Sr., Chagrin Falls: Qualified for her third state meet and took 64th at 20minutes, 9seconds. Took second at the D-II Madison District and 23rd at Boardman. Mary Lombardo, Sr., Gilmour: Finished 41st at the D-III state meet at 19minutes 56 seconds. Also placed fourth at district and 16th at regional. Cori Lynch, Sr., Perry: Narrowly missed qualifying for the D-II state meet for the second year in a row by finishing 36th at Boardman. Was seventh at Madison District meet.

Mai Ly Marella, Jr., Mayfield: Will look to bounce back from her sophomore after placing 37th at districts and missing qualifying for regional.

Paige Masson, Jr., Kenston: Finished 42nd at the D-I state meet at 19minutes, 13 seconds. Also finished seventh at Madison and 34th at Boardman.

Cecelia Paglia, Jr., Kenston: Paced the Bombers to their fifth-place team finish at the D-I state meet by finishing 13th at 18minutes, 32seconds. Also finished fifth at Madison and 10th at Boardman. Giovanna Rosko, So., Gilmour: Took 66th at the D-III state meet at 20minutes, 21 seconds.

Alyssa Vis, Sr., Perry: Finished 39th at D-II Boardman meet after a 12th at Madison. Kelly Ward, So., Lake Catholic: Had a solid season as a freshman, qualifying for the D-II regional after an 11th at Madison. Finished 59th at Boardman.

Amy Weybrecht, So., Gilmour: Took second at both the D-III Madison District and Boardman Regional meets. Finished third at the state meet at 18minutes, 30seconds to cap her freshman cross country campaign.
