Berkshire » Badgers
Just the facts
Conference: CVC Valley
OHSAA: Division V, Region 17
Head Coach: Josh Deweese, ninth year (32-48)
2020: 5-4
Twitter: @Badgersfball
Home field: Dr. William A. Reed Field
Outlook
The strength for Berkshire is going to be up front on both sides of the ball. The Badgers return three of their offensive linemen and five of their seven along the defensive front. Mentor transfer Ethan Bryndal fills one of those holes on both sides of the ball. Lucas Stoddard will also act as a sixth lineman for new QB Miles Miller, while also being his safety valve at TE. The 6-foot4 senior has added roughly 15 pounds of muscle and should be a destructive force on both sides of the ball. The skill positions are young, with one player returning on each side.
Player to watch
Josh Brown is the lone returning starter among the skill positions and has been a leader on both sides. He has been a factor from the slot and off the edge for the Badgers, and with a young group around him, Deweese is excited to see Brown lead the younger group.
Underclassman to watch:
Despite being a new QB for Berkshire, Miles Miller knows the system well as he was brought up through the system. His experience mixed with new faces at the skill positions and a veteran offensive line gives Deweese a lot of optimism for what the offense is capable.
Bottom line
IF: the young skill positions lean on the veteran fronts, THEN: the Badgers can be CVC Valley title contenders.
