Kenston>>Bombers
Just the facts
Conference: WRC
OHSAA: Division III, Region 9
Coach: Jeff Grubich, 10th year (60-37) 2020: 3-4
Twitter: @Bomber_Football
Home field: Bomber Stadium
Outlook
The Bombers might return more starters than anyone in the area — nine on offense and nine on defense. But because of the abbreviated season last year, they aren’t as experienced as they might be in other years. The offense should be electric. QB Nikko Georgiou has an insane amount of skill around him, including 6-foot-6 Indiana commit Ryan Miller. Four of the five starters are back on the offensive line, too, and the scrimmage season has shown that line being very effective. Defensively, the back seven returns most of its starters. If the front line can get some pressure, this defense might be one of the program’s best in a while.
Player to watch
You can’t help but notice four-year starter Ryan Miller on the field. The 6-6 tight end started on Kenston’s state championship team in 2018. He’s a big target with great hands — and a fine leader. Underclassman to watch: Sean Patrick is lined up to do great things this year at defensive back and running back. The kid can fly. Once he gets to open space, it’s bye-bye.
Bottom line
IF: The Bombers can stop the run on defense and force teams to pass; THEN: The offense is potentially so good that this team could make a deep playoff run again.
