Carver Financial Services, Inc. recently hosted its 32nd annual food drive and client appreciation event at Classic Park in Eastlake teaming up with the Lake County Captains.

Since 1988, Randy Carver, president of Carver Financial Services Inc. and Registered Principal of Raymond James Financial Services Inc. has held an annual client appreciation event and asked the hundreds who have attended to bring nonperishable food items.

Since its inception, it’s estimated that Carver Financial has collected food donations which have provided more than 100,000 meals to needy families in Lake County.

“Our annual client appreciation event is a way to say thank you to our clients, but it has also been a wonderful way for our clients to help others throughout the community,” stated Carver. “Despite the rain, enough food for over 3,200 meals was collected at Friday night’s Captain’s baseball game, which will be donated to End 68 Hours of Hunger Lake County.”

End 68 Hours of Hunger is a local charity that has committed to raising funds and collecting food to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive in school Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive in school Monday morning.

“Even during strong economic times, many families are still challenged with food insecurity. Now with the current pandemic, even more families are struggling to put food on the table. Our annual food drive is a way in which we can help serve children and their families in Lake County, as well as to the community as a whole,” Carver said.

While Carver Financial’s business has grown over the years, so has its community involvement.

It works with Torchlight Youth Mentoring Program, Lake County Council on Aging, Crossroads & New Horizons, Junior Achievement, host food drives and a charity golf event annually.
