Gettysburg College
Jacob Weiss of Novelty has been placed on the Gettysburg College Dean’s Honor list for outstanding academic achievement in the Spring 2021 semester.
Students with a quality point average of 3.60 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for a semester’s work are placed on the College’s Dean’s Honor List.
University of New England
William Shearon of Chagrin Falls, has been named to the Dean’s List for the 2021 spring semester at the University of New England.
Dean’s List students have attained a grade point average of 3.3 or better out of a possible 4.0 at the end of the semester.
Baldwin Wallace University
Isa Luciano of Willoughby was inducted into Baldwin Wallace University’s Alpha Mu Zeta chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society.
Luciano, a graduate of Willoughby South High School majoring in adolescent and young adult education and English integrated language arts, shared the honor with six other students.
To qualify for membership, students are required to complete at least two collegiate courses in English language or literature, beyond the usual requirements in freshman English; have a minimum of a B, or equivalent average, in English and in general scholarship; rank in the top thirtyfive percent of their class; and complete at least three semesters of college course work.
Baldwin Wallace University
Students from the area were among 36 exceptional writers and artists whose work was selected for publication in the 2021 edition of Baldwin Wallace University’s annual literary and art journal, The Mill.
The following local students had works included:
Kesha Dalal of Mentor, a graduate of Mentor High School, published work titled “Valentine’s Day, 1975.”
Isa Luciano of Willoughby, a graduate of Willoughby South High School majoring in adolescent and young adult education and English integrated language arts, published work titled “Choked Up.”
Each edition of The Mill showcases and celebrates the creative works of student writers and artists across different disciplines.
Thestudent-directed and student-operated journal is dedicated to displaying the unique ideas, visions and voices of BW’s talented students.
