Jonathan Camarillo-Hernandez, 19, was arrested Aug. 19 by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
The day prior, the sheriff’s office responded to the 3600 block of River Road in Perry Township for a reported disturbance of a man dragging a woman in a Chrysler 300 sedan before fleeing, according to the release.
Deputies arrived and found a four-door vehicle in a ditch in a disabled position and blood in the roadway. As deputies traveled the area, a Chrysler 300 sedan was seen traveling on River Road back toward the scene. The vehicle allegedly quickly turned off the roadway and was soon found unoccupied in a residential driveway.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the initial report, the nearby Perry Village Police K-9 unit was requested along with the Lake County Public Safety Unmanned Aircraft System drone team to help locate the man and woman who were believed to have fled into a wooded area.
As efforts to locate them were underway, the juvenile female allegedly fled the wooded area to seek help from deputies who were on scene.

He’s then accused of dragging her from her car into the Chrysler before removing her vehicle from the roadway and causing it to become disabled in the ditch. He then fled the scene with the juvenile.
Efforts Aug. 18 to locate the suspect with the K9 and drone team were unsuccessful. The following day, the sheriff’s office and marshals task force found him in Painesville and he was taken into custody.
Camarillo-Hernandez was arraigned in Painesville Municipal Court Aug. 20 on first-degree felony kidnapping and misdemeanor domestic violence charges, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 24.
The sheriff’s office stated in the news release that further charges will be forthcoming.
