Mall walker program set to kick off

Cleveland Clinic new sponsor of program at Great Lakes Mall

Great Lakes Mall announced it will host a drivethru kick-off event honoring the launch of its partnership with Cleveland Clinic as the new program sponsor of the very popular Mall Walker program.

The event will take place 9 to 10 a.m., Sept. 8, at the food court entrance.

Guests will be greeted by Great Lakes Mall and Cleveland Clinic staff as they drive by to register for the new Mall Walker Program, receive a T-shirt, mall walker membership card, refreshments and a complimentary bag from Cleveland Clinic, according to a news release.

If guests are unable to attend this event, they can register for the new Cleveland Clinic Mall Walker inside the mall at the top of the food court on Sept. 15 and 22 from 9 to 10 a.m.

The 2,000-plus member Great Lakes Mall Walking Program is completely free to join and is part of the Find Your Fit Program, which is designed to offer guests relevant and differentiated physical, well-being and educational experiences that enhance their lives.

Fitness Loop, another aspect of Find Your Fit, has also recently been installed at Great Lakes Mall. It consists of four fitness activation stations located throughout the mall. Each station provides instruction for guests to engage in different stretching and exercise routines as they complete their walk around the mall.

“We are so proud to be collaborating with Cleveland Clinic as the sponsor of the Mall Walker program,” said mall Area Marketing Director Sharon Bennett in the release. “Great Lakes Mall has been a leader in the Mentor community for many years and is proud to partner on our Mall Walker program with another notable icon, Cleveland Clinic.”

All Mall Walker festivities will adhere to the mall’s cleaning and disinfectant practices amid the ongoing pandemic, the release stated.
