The Mentor football team nearly pulled off the upset. Playing without junior quarterbac­k Jacob Snow (hand injury), the Cardinals lost to North Allegheny, 20-16, on Sept. 10 across the Pennsylvan­ia state line.

Senior Brenden Panhorst ran for 176 yards and a touchdown, while freshman quarterbac­k Scott Fox completed 12of 21 passes for 181yards and a touchdown to Mikey Norwood. The Cardinals outgained North Allegheny, 347-246. Mentor is now 2-2 this season and will face Clarkson, Canada, next weekend at Jerome T.

• Rick Coleman Jr. and Blaise Collins combined for 237yards rushing and three touchdowns as Harvey defeated Crestwood, 21-13, in CVC Valley Division play.

Coleman ran for 132yards and two touchdowns, while Collins ran for 105and a score. Harvey outscored Crestwood, 14-0, in the second half to clinch the victory.

• Dominic Johnson ran for 222 yards and two touchdowns, and Terrence Robinson ran for 122yards and three scores to lift Hawken to a 50-7 win over Cardinal.

Robinson also threw for a pair of scores for the Hawks (2-2, 1-0CVC Valley). Of Hawken’s 452yards of offense, 367came on the ground.

• Tyler Seacrist caught four passes for 63yards, but Lake Catholic (1-3) lost to visiting Glenville, 34-0.

• Josh Brown ran for 102yards and scored a touchdown as Berkshire (3-1) outlasted Grand Valley, 29-25. The Mustangs outgained the Badgers, 441349, including 192rushing yards and 212passing yards from Nathan Boiarski.

• Ceejay Yarboro threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns as Benedictin­e beat Columbus Hartley, 38-17. Marvin Conkle caught five passes for 116 yards and a score for the Bengals (4-0).

• Wyatt Fuduric ran for 64 yards and a touchdown, but Geneva lost to Lakeside, 42-7, to drop the Eagles’ record to 1-3.
