Extended Housing announced it will be holding its 2022 Stakeholders’ Meeting on March 2.

This year’s meeting will be a virtual event due to the pandemic and will be streamed at 2 p.m. on Extended Housing’s Facebook and YouTube pages, according to a news release.

The stakeholders’ meeting serves as an opportunity Extended Housing leadership to share highlights from the previous year with their supporters and to share more information about their programs, the release stated.

This year, the theme of the meeting is “Lasting Change Through Community Partnerships” and guest speakers will be Judy Burr, director of Project Hope for the Homeless, and James Hido, director of marketing for Sub Zero Mission.

During the stakeholders’ meeting, awards will also be presented to community stakeholders who have had an impact on the work of the organization.

This year the Fair Housing Resource Center will be recognized as Extended Housing’s Housing Partner of the Year for their commitment to helping with the housing needs of the people of Lake County. The Stakeholders’ Award is being presented to Peg’s Foundation for their support of Extended Housing’s efforts to increase offerings to their clients and reduce stigma around mental illness.

Mary Jo Fryauff and Tony Brzytwa will be introduced as Emeritus Board members of Extended Housing.

When asked about what she hopes viewers take away from watching the event, Extended Housing Executive Director Karen McLeod said, “I hope viewers will agree that the event was worth their time and hopefully they will take some form of action in response.”

The event is also the official kick-off of the organization’s monthlong online basket and 50/50 raffles. Raffle prizes include a Lake County Captains ticket package, a four-person golf package in Kirtland, an afternoon for up to four sailing, lottery scratchers’ baskets, and a Nintendo Switch, the release stated.

Along with the raffle, Extended Housing at the stakeholders’ meeting will be launching a new awareness campaign focused around homelessness.

Extended Housing’s mission is to prevent and end homelessness for individuals in Lake County with serious mental illness.
