The Lake County Fair saw record attendance in 2021. Expectatio­ns are high for 2022 with plans to build on last year’s success. The 167th edition of the Lake County Fair will run from July 26 – July 31, 2022 at the county fairground­s on Mentor Avenue in Painesvill­e Township. The 2022 Fair is presented by Ganley Village of Painesvill­e.

This year’s event will feature all the favorite fair traditions and more. The 2022 Fair will be packed with fun for the whole family. Highlighti­ng this year’s entertainm­ent line-up will be the Lake County Demo Derby which will include a School Bus Feature. This special feature will be the fist of its kind ever, in Northeast Ohio, thanks to the financial support of the Lake County Visitor’s Bureau Arts and Culture Grant Program and the Lake County Board of Commission­ers. Other favorite events will include a Monster Truck Show, motocross racing, a truck and tractor pull, side-by-side dirt track racing, horse pulls and great live music every day.

The Fair starts on Tuesday, July 26th with Veterans Day. Harness racing will take place on this day with a noon post time and will feature both colts and fillies. There will be free admission for all until 3:00 pm and Veterans will be admitted free all day. The Lake County Veterans Service Bureau will hold a special Veteran’s Day event at 6:00 pm including a dedication of the Fairground’s new Armed Forces Memorial Wall. You won’t want to miss the opening day parade starting at 6:00 pm featuring over 150 units traveling from Painesvill­e City west on Mentor Avenue to the fairground­s.

Wednesday is Family Day. Families of four or more will be admitted for $8 per person including ride privileges. Family Day will feature a Monster Truck Show in the grandstand. Thursday is Kids Day with free admission for ages 14 and under when accompanie­d by an adult. There will be free activities, games, and prizes for ages 12 and under at the main grandstand beginning at 1pm. Ride wristbands are available for $8 on this day. There will be Free Kiddie Tractor Pulls on Thursday and Friday afternoon.

Friday is Seniors Day with age 60 and over free until 3:00 pm with a free boxed lunch while they last and other activities provided by the Lake County Council on Aging.

The weekend will feature a horse pull, the annual 4-H Livestock Auction, Power Truck and Tractor Pulls, Latino Day and the Lake County Demo Derby… the granddaddy of all demo derbies. Free on-grounds acts the duration of the fair will include Jungle Terry, Rocky Mountain Carving Creations, and new this year, The Marvelous Mutts Canine Spectacula­r.
