Services for Mary Jane Louise (Babilon) Smith, 96, of Wickliffe, will be at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Davis-Babcock

Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Willoughby Emblem memorial service will begin at 11:30 AM followed by the Rev. Timothy D. Kalista.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:30 AM on Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Fairmount Health Center in Willoughby.

Born December 8, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was a longtime Northeast Ohio resident, living in Wickliffe since 2009.

She was a member and past president from 1991-1992 and 1995-1996 and recording secretary of the Willoughby Emblem Club #508 and the former Willoughby Chapter #202 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, bowling and was also a member of an organ club.

Mrs. Smith was employed as a legal secretary for a major corporate law firm in downtown Cleveland.

Survivors are her sons, Michael Joseph (Luci) Besket and Alan Norman Besket (Smith); grandchildren, Lucia (Mark) Garretson and Michael Jonathan Besket and greatgrandchildren, Michael Benjamin Turner-Besket, Luca, Ivy and Fox Garretson. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Walter Smith in 2009. Her parents, John and Margaret (Deuerling) Babilon; sister, Margaret Kablach and brother, John Babilon are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
