Jessica Wolenski of Lyndhurst was inducted into BW’s Delta Upsilon Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society in the spring 2022 semester.
Society membership is extended to students who have completed at least 12 credit hours of history courses, have at least a 3.1 GPA in history courses and have at least a 3.0 GPA in all non-history courses. Wolenski, a graduate of Beaumont School majoring in history, was the only recipient of the honor.
Phi Alpha Theta, established in 1921, is an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history with over 400,000 members and 970 chapters nationwide. The society promotes the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication, and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. Phi Alpha Theta brings students and teachers together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by members in a variety of ways.
• Local students were inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society in the spring 2022 semester.
Society membership is extended to student-athletes selected by their athletic department in consultation with their head coach at a four-year accredited institution that is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The criteria for selection includes a 3.4 minimum cumulative GPA, junior academic standing by the fifth semester, earned athletic letter winner, and excellent character and citizenship.

Isa Luciano of Willoughby, a graduate of Willoughby South High School majoring in adolescent and young adult education and English integrated language arts.
Matt Sabin of Mentor, a graduate of Mentor High School majoring in sport management.
Mack Simpson of Painesville, a graduate of Riverside High School majoring in exercise science.
