Martha L. Jennison left this world peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Fairmont Health Center, Willoughby, OH. Born September 26, 1925 to Sara (Lentz) and Chester C (Cha) Lang in Columbus, OH she graduated from

Upper Arlington HS, Miami University and Graduate studies at The University of Chicago.

Martha loved all things purple and orange, the Cleveland Browns, Bridge, traveling abroad, taking her children and granddaugh­ters on trips to the

Southwest, entertaini­ng her many friends, music and singing, mastering games on her two I pads, ordering on line, her news programs, an occasional cocktail, local in-season produce and MANGOES.

Her courage, perseveran­ce, and strength found her driving 5 hours to PA for holidays through her 91st year and cooking her favorite foods until 2 weeks before her death.

She was a fierce political activist believing in racial equality, women’s and LGBTQ+ rights attending her last protest for Common Sense Gun Legislatio­n in 2018.

Teaching was her “calling” especially “hands on” science for which she won Lubrizol’s Lake County Elementary Science Teacher of the Year in 1992. She taught 3rd and 4th grade at Lincoln/Wickliffe Elementary for 31 years, retiring at age 73.

She was “friends” on Facebook with many former students and loved getting messages from them.

Most of all, Martha loved spending time with her family: her daughters Cynthia (Patricia Keeler) Grace-Lang, Liz (Billy) Wochele, and her adored granddaugh­ters MarthaElle­n (Daniel) Sutton, Constance Evangelou, Sara (Matthew) Duckery and Carolyn Wochele. She was beloved “GG” to Great Grands, Benjamin and Ella Sutton, Beatrice and Evangeline Lofgren, Matthias and Christos Duckery She was preceded in death by her son, David M Cecot.
