Edward Paul Cordone, age 67, resident of Munson Township, passed away and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in the care of the Select Specialty Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Eddie Cordone was born June 22, 1955, to Alfred W. Cordone and Esther Nell (Hawkey) in Chardon, Ohio. Eddie attended the Metzenbaum Opportunit­y School (Metzenbaum Center) when it first opened. Eddie went on to work at quite a few places, but his most recent adventures took him to the Special Hands shop in Middlefiel­d and CLW in Newbury. Eddie participat­ed and succeeded in many Metzenbaum programs including the Special Olympics. He played basketball (Metzenbaum Blue Streaks), and participat­ed in track and field for many years, winning many medals. Eddy was a member of the former Word of Faith Church in Chardon and was affiliated with the Boy Scouts. He had a love for music like no other and was a profound fan of his Cleveland sports teams, specifical­ly the Browns, Indians, and the Cavaliers. He was known for his warm, loving, kindred spirit towards everybody he came in contact with, he truly was friendly to everyone. Eddie was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and a friend to many.

He is survived by his Brother William A. Cordone (Denise); Nephew Joseph Keidel (Marissa); Niece Nella Cordone (Cody Kaschalk), and Great Niece and Nephew Keelee and Niko Keidel.

Eddie is preceded in death by his Father and Mother Alfred W. Cordone, Esther Nell (Hawkey), and Uncle Harold P. Cordone.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, OH 44024. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday June 30, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Whitehaven Cemetery in Mayfield Village, meal to follow at

the Claridon Woodlands Park in Chardon, 11383 Claridon Troy Rd, Chardon, OH 44024.

The family suggest contributi­ons be made in Edward’s name to the Metzenbaum Center (GCBDD).
