The holiday season in Northern Indiana Amish Country is such a joyous time filled with fun, food, and festive traditions that we decided it would be a perfect place for us to celebrate, too! Grab your girlfriend­s, moms, granddaugh­ters, or favorite cousins, and escape the hectic schedule of the holiday season for 3 joy-filled days as we step into a slower pace and feel the warmth from friendly Amish businesses as they invite us into their homes for a peek into the window of their unique world! ~ Christmas Tea at the 1887 Victorian-style Coppes House B & B – The Holiday Spirit will surround you as your hot tea and fresh sweets are served with vintage teacups and fine china - then tour this beautiful home – How fun! * At the Essenhaus Inn where we’re staying, look for Christmas gifts in the Village Shops * Relax on a horse-drawn carriage ride – relax in the hot tub, or swim in the lovely pool – take time to reflect on your many blessing this Christmast­ime! * Enjoy a delicious dinner at Das Dutchman * Visit a rural Amish workshop and hear the Miller family share Christmas traditions while you watch a wooden nativity come to life! * Then ‘away we go’ for a “Stocking Stuffer Backroads Tour” to Amish businesses off the beaten path – so wonderful! * At the Rise ‘n Roll Bakery, just try to resist the maze of amazing goodies wafting thru the store – think melt-in-your mouth cinnamon caramel donuts, for instance! * At Brenda’s Amish home, enjoy her festive Cookie Decorating demo as she rolls, cuts, and shares her family’s favorite cookie recipe. Then decorate your own to take home… (or munch on when no one’s looking)! Enjoy a delicious Haystack Lunch the Amish are known for * Other charming stops will include an Amish Candy Maker, Jam Maker, and Toy Maker – each is a wonderful experience of its own * At the Shipshewan­a Event Center, we’re guests for a special Christmas feast and show called “Noel”, a very special holiday evening that’s both amazing and uplifting! It includes equestrian adventures of all kinds, aerialists with high air routines, world-class vocalists singing favorite songs, Yuletide dancers, and even a cow who thinks he’s a reindeer!
