Fairport Harbor Village government selects 2022 Employee of the Year
“This nomination is well-deserved and I can’t say thank you enough for everything Jennifer does every single day to support the Police Department, the village and its residents.” — Amy Cossick, village administrator
Jennifer Calhoun Hurban has been chosen as Fairport Harbor Village government’s 2022 Employee of the Year.
Hurban, an administrative assistant who performs a variety of duties within the village Police Department, was selected for the honor through an event involving the community government’s workforce.
“Village Hall employees from all departments — Police, Fire, Service, Water and Administration — were asked to nominate a member of our team who has gone above and beyond to support the village in 2022,” Village Administrator Amy Cossick explained.
To pick a top employee for a given year, the village issues nomination forms offering each of the community government’s employees the chance to vote.
“I am happy to report that our team has selected Jennifer Calhoun Hurban,” Cossick said. “This nomination is well-deserved and I can’t say thank you enough for everything Jennifer does every single day to support the Police Department, the village and its residents.”
A resolution saluting Hurban as Employee of the Year was approved by Village Council at its Feb. 21 meeting.
Hurban, in a Feb. 28 email, expressed gratitude to the village government colleagues who selected her as the award winner.
“The village is a small but mighty team — everyone does a lot with a little — and it is difficult to choose only one,” she said. “This has been an unexpected honor and I am very thankful.”
Hurban began working for Fairport in 2014 as an administrative assistant in the police department, according to council’s resolution.
“Her tasks include handling the department’s record keeping, report requests, filing, maintaining court-related matters and assisting the police chief with secretarial duties,” the resolution states.
In addition, Hurban serves as clerk of the Fairport Harbor Traffic Violations Bureau Court, and is the police department’s assistant evidence technician.
“We congratulate Jennifer (on being named 2022 Employee of the Year) and are thankful for her hard work and dedication to the department,” the Fairport Harbor Police Department stated on its Facebook page.
