Boys lacrosse players to watch

(in alphabetic­al order) D Grant Albert, Jr., Chagrin Falls:

The long stick player of the year in Region 6, Albert will be the one to lead the Tigers’ defense. Created 59 ground balls and 28 turnovers a season ago.

D Devon Ambrus, Jr., Mentor: A strong defender for the Cardinals as they look to make a big leap this season. Forced 38 turnovers and 68 ground balls a season ago.

A Preston Blue, Jr., University: He was the leader for the Preppers’ offense last season as he had 44 goals. Was also strong with the offensive distributi­on as he had 16assists.

M/D Max Crandall, Sr., Chagrin Falls:

An all-around player, finished last season with 20 goals, 27 assists, 92 ground balls and 14created turnovers. Will be tasked with running the offense again as the other attackers adjust to the game.

FO Charlie Frederick, Sr., Chagrin Falls:

A threat to win any faceoff put in front of him as he converted 57% last year. Played a role in the defense as well as he created 123 ground balls.

M Tommy Garvey, Jr., Kenston: Will be the lead attacker for the Bombers this season as he looks to build on his 18 goals and 11 assists. Is equally as strong on the defensive half with 62 forced ground balls and 23 turnovers.

A Gage Gretter, Sr., Hawken:

He’ll be in charge of the offense this year with his 52goals and 27assists from a year ago. While primarily on the offensive side, able to hold his own on defense as he caused 52ground balls and 16 turnovers.

A Dylan Lulow, So., Riverside:

Put together a solid freshman campaign with 18 goals and 25assists, the latter was good for third best in the coverage area. Also forced 37 ground balls a year ago.

G Joey McCamon, Jr., Chagrin Falls:

Last season saw McCamon make a jump between the pipes as he had 149 saves.

M/FO Marko Sobonya, Sr., Riverside: Strong all-around the field as he led the area in 159created ground balls and also won 81% of his faceoffs. Can also make a splash on the offensive end.

A Ryan Shemitz, Jr., NDCL:

Will take over the attack as the Lions look to build around the sophomore. He had 19 goals a season ago with 17
