Tony Fisher Award watch list

The Tony Fisher Award, named after the Euclid product who won Ohio’s coveted Mr. Football Award before moving on to play at Notre Dame and in the NFL, goes to The News-Herald’s football player of the year.

The winner of the award will be announced during a special edition of the Varsity Chalk Talk show on Monday, Nov. 20, at Hooley Pub and Kitchen.

The Fisher watch list is subject to change on a weekly basis. Here is this week’s list in alphabetic­al order:

Rocco Alfieri, Sr., Kirtland:

Carried 20times for 91yards in the Hornets’ 24-6loss to Perry.

Alexander Ash, Jr., Chardon:

Had 10tackles and three sacks in the Hilltopper­s’ 2810win over Avon Lake.

Gino Blasini, Sr., Kirtland: Caught four passes for 45 yards in the Hornets’ 24-6 loss to Perry.

Will Francis, Sr., Chardon:

Carried 18times for 177yards and two touchdowns in the Hilltopper­s’ 28-10 win over Avon Lake.

Bo Jackson, Jr., VASJ:

Carried seven times for 110 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ 42-6 win over Youngstown East.

Jordan Johnson, Sr., Hawken:

Carried 20times for 50 yards and had 24 yards in kickoff returns in the Hawks’ 41-10 loss to Gilmour.

Lucas Kaltenbach, Jr., Kenston:

Completed 10 of 17 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for 21yards, in the Bombers’ 55-7 win over Chagrin Falls.

Andy Kavcic, Sr., Gilmour:

Caught three passes for 17 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 106yards and a score in the Lancers’ 41-7 win over Hawken.

Jake Kavcic, Sr., Gilmour: Threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for 15yards and two scores, in the Lancers’ 41-7win over Hawken.

Scotty Fox, Jr., Mentor:

Ran for 108 yards and three touchdowns, and also completed 15 of 37 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown, in the Cardinals’ 34-31loss to Riverside.

Jason Mackey, Sr., Riverside: Carried 18times for 70 yards in the Beavers’ 34-31 win over Mentor.

Mikey Maloney, Sr., Riverside: Carried 16times for 121 yards and three touchdowns, and also completed 13of 25 passes for 172yards and two touchdown,s in the Beavers’ 34-31 win over Mentor.

Luke Mangini, Sr., Hawken: Ran for 17 yards, caught three passes for 35yards and had six tackles and a TFL on defense in the Hawks’ 41-10 loss to Gilmour.

Brady McKnight, Sr., Riverside: Had four catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns in the Beavers’ 34-31 win over Mentor.

Miles Miller, Sr., Berkshire: Carried 16times for 88yards and a touchdown, and also completed 11of 22passes for 129 yards, in the Badgers’ 2714loss to Cuyahoga Heights. Rocco Monastero, Sr., Mayfield: Completed 24of 37 passes for 191yards and two touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 35-14loss to Nordonia.

Walter Moses, Jr., Perry:

Completed 12of 20passes for 249yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for 16 yards, in the Pirates’ 24-6 win over Kirtland.

Delond Moss, Sr., South: Caught 12 passes for 182 yards and five touchdowns in the Rebels’ 33-32 win over Brush.

Sean Patrick, Sr., Kenston: Carried 10times for 146yards and three touchdowns and caught a 50-yard touchdown pass in the Bombers’ 55-7 win over Chagrin Falls.

Amani Powell, Sr., VASJ:

Carried 15times for 123 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ 42-6 win over Youngstown East.

Brayden Richards, Sr., Perry:

Caught three passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also ran for 16 yards, in the Pirates’ 24-6 win over Kirtland. He also has 26tackles on defense this season.

Tanelle Rose, Sr., Brush:

Carried 32times for 179yards and three touchdowns in the Arcs’ 33-32loss to South. Frankie Trinetti, Jr., Lake Catholic: Completed 18of 26 passes for 247yards and four touchdowns in the Cougars’ 27-13 win over Akron Buchtel.
