Vets group plans basket auction

The Palmer Roberts Unit 214 American Legion Auxiliary will soon be hosting their annual basket auction.

The auction is scheduled to take place on April 27 and 28 at VFW Post 1500, and American Legion Post 214, 38929 Pelton Road in Willoughby. The auction will run from noon to 5 p.m. on both days, and winners will be drawn late afternoon on that Sunday, according to a news release.

All money raised from the auction will support veterans in the community and American Legion Auxiliary charities, the release stated. Drinks, a 5050 raffle and a bake sale will be available to attendees.

Some of the auxiliary’s charitable acts for the community and the veterans in the area include bringing them things they need over the holidays, making donations to the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and its domiciliary, donating to homeless veterans and Volunteers of America Thrift in Willoughby, according to the release.
