MIDDLETOWN - Martin Alfonso Lucatamo, 76, of Middletown, DE lost his brief battle with cancer on March 8, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

Marty was a 1965 graduate of Elkton High School. After graduation, he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Marty was employed at Chrysler for 36 years, retiring in 2001. Marty enjoyed every day with the life he was blessed with. He enjoyed swimming in his pool, working in his garden, mowing his lawn, working on cars, and helping others work on theirs. He was an ace mechanic and could fix just about anything and if he couldn’t fix it he would still say that he did. He loved spending time with his children and grandchild­ren and was so proud of each and every one of them.

Marty married the love of his life, Connie Marie Wright, on October 1, 1966, and they shared 57 beautiful years together. They promised to love one another and that love never ended. They went through their ups and downs but always pulled through more in love and were devoted to one another until the very end.

Marty is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his sons Martin Lucatamo (Charlene) of Dover, DE, and Michael Lucatamo, Sr. ( Jami) of Chesapeake City, MD; and daughter, Christina Duncan of Middletown, DE. He is also survived by his grandchild­ren, Cecelia, Lucatamo, Michael, Jacob, and Jenna; and his brothers, John Lucatamo, Jr. (Loretta) and David Lucatamo; as well as his niece and nephews, Jackie, Matthew, and Julie.

He is preceded in death by his parents John Lucatamo, Sr. and Margaret (McFadden) Lucatamo; his in-laws, Harvey and Evelyn Wright; his brotherin-law, Gordon Wright; and his son-in-law, W. Scott Duncan.

His family would like to thank all of their family and friends for their prayers and support and a special thank you to Amanda and the entire Accent Care team.

Visitation will be held from 6 PM – 8 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors will be celebrated at 12 PM, Friday, March 15, 2024 at St. Joseph Parish, 319 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE 19709. Interment will be 11 AM, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
