On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Shirley Ann (Ridgeway) Cole passed away at the age of 81 at Danbury Hospital after a brief illness.

Shirley was born on October 30, 1939 in Ludingtonv­ille, NY (Kent) to the late Mary Francis (Ashby) Ridgeway and Coleman William Ridgeway. She grew up in NY and eventually moved to Connecticu­t where she raised five children. She worked as a machine operator for Eagle Pencil. Berol before working at Boehringer Ingelheim then later in life at Costco. Her favorite pastimes included going to the casino, watching game shows, and doing crossword puzzles. She was known for her quick wit and caring nature.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Cole (Linda) of Bethel, CT, Jack Cole of Danbury, CT, daughters; Mary Ann Cole of Waterbury, CT, Diana Cole of Danbury, CT, brother; Arthur Ridgeway (Ruth) of Danbury, CT, grandchild­ren; Edward Cole Jr., Joygina Blackwell, Jaime Taylor, De’Angelo Cole, Matthew Cole, Joseph Cole, Jack Redman, Daniel Cole, Asia Andrews, Joshua Cole, Rachell Redman, Jonathan Cole, Thirteen great grandchild­ren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Coleman, brother Robert Ridgeway, sisters Helen Ridgeway, Marion Ridgeway, and her daughter Lisa Cole.
