Anthony J. Dalessio
Anthony J. Dalessio, 87, of Ridgefield, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2021. He was the loving husband of Carol (Pisano) Dalessio.
Anthony was born in Danbury, CT on September 17, 1933; the son of late Dominic and Jennie (Setaro) Dalessio. He was proud of his Italian heritage. Anthony attended schools in Danbury, CT and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1955. While at the University of Connecticut he was a founding member and served as President of Chi Phi fraternity.
A Ridgefield resident since 1977, Anthony retired as Vice President of Texaco Europe. He started his business career with Canada Dry. In 1959, he started working for Texaco in Nyack, NY. In 1970, he and his family moved to Rome, Italy to serve as Managing Director Texaco SpA. After returning to the United States, he held various strategic executive roles which culminated in his retirement as Vice President of Texaco Europe. He retired from Texaco after 35 years in 1994.
Anthony was a member of the Marymount College Board of Directors and was at one time the Chairman of the Board. As Chairman, he secured the largest corporate grant in the college’s history which was to develop a master plan for future buildings and renovating the campus concert hall. He enjoyed dining out at local restaurants, travel, and Broadway shows. He was a great story teller, loved being a leader and making friends wherever he went. He had a deep love of all things Ridgefield, gave generously of his time and expertise as he took pride in being a member of the community. Anthony was a parishioner of St Mary’s Church for 44 years. Family, friends and love of his Catholic faith were most important to him.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Carol and their three devoted children: Diane Dalessio, Tony Dalessio, and Karen Dalessio. He is also survived by his grandsons: Christopher Lynch and Philip Lynch as well as his loving sister Rosemary Kasinskas and her husband Joseph, niece Jennifer Kasinskas, and nephew Joe Kasinskas and his children, Ellery and Luca.
The family would like to thank Sheraton Caregivers for their caring and loving in home care aides. In addition, thank you to St John Paul II Center, Danbury, CT and Meals on Wheels, Ridgefield, CT. Funeral services will be held privately. Contributions in Anthony’s memory may be made to the Ridgefield Historical Society or Meals on Wheels. Kane Funeral Home is in care of funeral arrangements.
