Frank A. Manegio, Sr.

Frank A. Manegio, Sr. of New Milford, CT passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 in Danbury, CT following a brief illness. He was 90 years old.

Frank was born on September 14, 1929 in Yonkers, NY son of the late Frank and Concetta (Montalbano) Manegio.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothea Manegio, his children Dottie (Tom) Campbell, Frank Manegio, Jr. (Katrina), Kathy (Dave) Brown, Joyce (Mark) Sternberg & Elizabeth McDonald (John Shea), 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Also surviving are 4 siblings; MaryAnn Scavera, Richard Manegio, Sr., Sandy Stevens and Joyce Ann Manegio, along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Frank was predeceased by his daughter, Santa Manegio, siblings Alfred Manegio, Margaret Manegio and Rose Fox, and granddaughter Kirsten Meyer.

A proud Korean War Army Veteran, Frank married the love of his life, Dorothea E. Ryan, (who he met in their church choir in Yonkers, NY), on September 15, 1956. Together they raised 5 children, starting their family in Yonkers, NY and then moving to Darien, CT. Together, they also established “Manegio Floor

Covering” in Darien, CT. Frank enjoyed singing in the choir at Saint John’s Church, fishing on Long Island Sound from his boat, “Frank’s Revenge” and spending time with his beloved family and friends.

After retiring from “Manegio Floor Covering”, Frank and Dot settled in New Milford, CT, where Frank began his 16 year career at Home Depot.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements provided by Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford, CT.
