Bethel to hold student vaccination clinic
BETHEL — In an effort to get more young people vaccinated against COVID-19, Bethel’s school district plans to hold a student vaccination clinic on Friday.
The clinic will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at Bethel High School’s track and field facility, with second doses administered at the same location and time on Oct. 15.
The clinic will offer Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to Bethel students who are at least 12 years of age and have parental consent.
Parents must complete an online form, available at https://bit.ly/BethelVaccineForm to receive a written consent form. The written consent forms must then be submitted to their child’s school health office or nurse by Sept. 22.
As of Wednesday, more than 71 percent of 12- to 17-year-olds in Bethel had been fully vaccinated and over 79 percent had received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, according to state data.
Doses of the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccines will also be available for school staff, parents and other community members looking to get vaccinated, as well as boosters for eligible individuals.
