POLICE INVESTIGATE UNTIMELY DEATH

-

Police are investigating the death of a man who was discovered outside his Mia Bella Drive home.

James Broderick, 29, was found dead shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday, Interim Police Chief Jeffrey T. Covello said.

Police have classified the death as untimely. “This is not a murder investigation,” Covello said.

Police received a call about an unresponsive man in a driveway on Mia Bella Drive around 7:50 a.m. Covello said officers rushed to the home and found the man — later identified as Broderick — partially in the car and partially outside of it. The car was parked in his driveway.

“At present, the case is an active death investigation,” Covello said.

Police expect autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, regarding Broderick’s cause and manner of death, will help move the investigation along. Investigators are reviewing video surveillance from the home.

“We are interested in investigating his whereabouts and contacts within the preceding 24 hours of his death,” Covello said.
